'Meals Made Easy' classes offered

The Lincoln County Diabetes Education and Prevention Coalition, in partnership with Lincoln County Health and Human Services, is offering "Meals Made Easy," four-week nutrition education classes teaching individuals how to manage their diabetes through healthy eating habits.In Lincoln City, classes will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday beginning March 6. In Newport, classes take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, beginning April 14.Topics will include an overview of diabetes self-management and prevention and the "plate method" of how to classify foods into various groups and make healthy choices when planning meals. There will also be menus, recipes, and taste testing to teach how to prepare delicious meals.
